Hannah Bright graduated summa cum laude from UC Davis where she double-majored in cultural anthropology with an emphasis in Eastern religions and English with an emphasis in creative writing. There she was awarded Phi Beta Kappa membership, the Gilman International Scholar award, and One UC Davis Extraordinary Student recognition. After graduation, Hannah earned a Master of Science in Education from Dominican University of California, where she completed a culminating thesis examining meaning-making and mortality awareness in education. Next, Hannah earned a Master of Fine Arts in creative nonfiction writing from Colorado State University, where she spent three years as a writer and university instructor teaching composition and creative writing and serving as Associate Editor for the Colorado Review. Her creative and critical work has been published in The Seneca Review, Sweet Lit, and the Scholarship and Engagement in Education Journal. She has travelled through 27 countries and is working on her first book.

Hannah has built her career around empowering students to make meaning from their lives in order to gain access to powerful opportunities. She began her career as a college advisor straight after her undergraduate degree and has spent over ten years working with students in this capacity; she has particular expertise in guiding students in composing strong personal statements. Additionally, she has a wealth of experience as an experiential educator, creating safe environments for risk-taking and confidence-building, particularly in wilderness settings. Hannah is committed to honoring diversity and mindfulness in education. She loves to make the college application process fun, compassionate, and engaging, and she has a soft spot for animals, humor, and creativity.
